Mommies! This Secret Sauce is a Have To Make!!
Okay, I can’t believe that I am sharing this recipe…What am I thinking!!?
I have a few recipes that are top secret in my family. Some have been used for years and some I have made up myself with the understanding that I would never share them. After all, I am known as the best cook in the world here in the Carr house. I am not willing to give up my title that I have worked hard to earn. However, I figure there is no harm in sharing some of my secrets with you because every mom deserves “The Best Cook in the World” title in their home…right??
So here goes….my super secret sauce recipe….
that I use on soooo much in my kitchen…. There is no fancy name for it. I just call it the super secret sauce recipe….which I guess is no longer a super secret…..
This recipe is super simple and you will only need a couple ingredients that most mommies always have on hand.
- 4 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine (any kind)
- 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise (any kind….my hubby prefers Kraft Mayo…I like Dukes…..constant compromising…)
- 1/2 Tablespoon Parsley
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
- Pinch of Salt
These are the measurements that I use, but honestly I rarely use exact measurements when I cook. My advice is to play with it and customize the ingredients to your liking.
Melt butter in microwave for 15 to 20 seconds or until completely melted. You may also melt on the stove top if you don’t mind dirtying up a pot. Stir in the mayo and seasonings and BAM! The sauce is ready to spread on anything your heart desires. I use a silicone pastry/basting brush to spread the secret sauce onto any food that I am grilling. The texture will be a little clumpy but it is perfect on everything.
Uses for Super Secret Sauce:
- Spread the secret sauce on your corn on the cob before and during grilling!!
- Add to your steak when it’s hot off of the grill!
- Add to shrimp!
- I even put some of the secret sauce in my pinto beans!! (SOOO YUMMY)
- The possibilities are endless.
So There You Have It
It kinda feels good passing this on to you and your family. Yeah…I think I made the right decision…LOL!! Now you can add this to your favorite recipe book to hang on to for years to come.
Super Awesome Idea For Your Family….
I like keeping all of my favorite recipes in a binder or a blank recipe book. We have one for each of our 3 children and plan to pass a copy along to each of them when they marry. This way they will have all of momma’s favorite family recipes to use in their homes and share with their families. Hopefully, when these recipes are cooked in their kitchens that special memories come flooding back to them of when these meals were prepared for them…. ugh I’m getting emotional….
I have 3 copies of the above create-your-own recipe book. The picture on the cover is comforting..just feels homey:) The inside front cover also includes quick kitchen measurements and simple substitutions for you to use.
I hope that y’all enjoy this super secret sauce as much as we do in the Carr household. Thank you so much for visiting MotherGlue and please come back often!!
Hugs,Love, and Blessings:)
